It’s mostly in my neck and shoulders so my dr says stress. Also I was recently diagnosed w/ hypothyroidism, could that contribute? I read that hypothyroidism can cause the anxiety that I suffer from. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Skelaxin does not help
Yeah, the question pretty much sums it up. I have hypothyroidism and saw a piece on the news about how Roger Ebert had thyroid cancer and it freaked me out, so I thought I’d ask. Thanks!
My cat is a rescue cat who we love very much and has been part of the family for four years. He has been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid and I am worried about the cost. He will need a blood test, quoted at GBP118.00 and an operation. I have no insurance. Is it cruel to let nature take its course?
My vet prefers to remove the thyroid to avoid the nuisance of daily medication. After some years he expects the other thyroid to fail, at which time, he will prescribe medication.
A friend of mine thinks that she might have hypothyroidism. Besides having trouble losing weight, what kind of symptoms should she be looking out for?
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 8 months ago. My TSH level was at 9.5 at that time. My doctor told me he didn’t want to start treatment yet, at least until it was at 10. It has been 8 months and the symptoms are wearing on me. I can’t be up for more than 8 hours (or less) without being tired already. I fight off fatigue all day, no matter the sleep I get.
My concern is my doctor hasn’t called me back or set up another day to come in and get retested. I would assume 6 months is the normal time, am I wrong? What time is the usual amount of time to see an increase in TSH levels?
Would I be out of line to call and ask for a test so I can start with treatment? And ask to start treatment even if I haven’t reached 10?
I’ve asked ALOT of questions concerning this as I’m 2 months pg with hypothyroidism. (Just found out two days ago) I’m not opposed to taking the medication, I’m just wondering if anyone has had a child born with defects linked to the medication.
I have been suffering from hypothyroidism for 10 years now It would be a life changing experience if it worked.. If anyone has an idea or experienced it please let me know. It seems kinda expensive .. I wanna know its worth the money !
Thanks for any help !
I have a dobe who is taking hormone medication for hypothyroidism. Recently, I found a small bump on her abdomen near her back leg. I have a vet appointment on Friday, but meanwhile, I’ve been doing some research on what it might be. Hopefully, it’s just a benign fat lump, but does anyone if there’s a connection between her thyroid problem and this new bump? Will it go away on it’s own or will it always be there?
I plan to test for it this week. I have all the symptoms yet lack information regarding treatment. I’ve heard about hormone therapy but the steroids concern me. Please help.
Anybody know?
It says to not take it if you have a thyroid disease.. I had my thyroid out because it was enlarged, they biopsied it and it came back negative but they wanted to take it out and check inside. I’m waiting for the results, but I’ve also quit smoking and am taking Nicorette lozenges. Anybody know?
I have had Congenital Hypothyroidism all of my life, i was diagnosed at 2 days old. I have been taking Levothyroxine since i was 2 days old also. I am now 16, but I am curious if there are any long term effects of living with it. For some reason I have never really looked into my disease that much.

I have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. My tsh level came back at 3.47. My Dr. said she doesn’t usually prescribe meds for it until it gets above 4.0. However I recently read that new research is saying anything about 3.0 is hypothryoidism. Anyone with a TSH level somewhere around the same as mine being treated? I just want to feel better!
Does anyone know, or have experienced, success in using "natural" methods of regulating/curing Hypothyroidism? If so, what did you do? I read something about Iodine, but I’m not sure how to go about using it, or what dosage to use. I’d appreciate any info. on vitamins or anything that works.
Thanks
Around two years ago I went on Synthroid. I have to take it every morning..So every day I have to get up before or around 9 am, brush my teeth (I’m not allowed to take medicine with my mouth "dirty"), then take the medicine.
My doctor said I would be on it for 1 - 2 years.
What does the treatment do anyway?
