I had blood work done about a week ago for a possible thyroid problem. I know that that is a pretty in depth test, they check cholesterol, t3, t4, and TSH, but its coming up on 8 days with no news from the Dr., just seems a little long to me. I asked them to call either way just so I know.

For like a week I’ve had almost all the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. I couldn’t sleep for five days because my body was so alert and feeling warm at night while others felt cool. Then i took a multivitamin with iodine, some milk and orange juice late at night, and now I have the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Can someone please tell me what my body’s doing?

I am having a hard time conceiving and after some internet research, I think I may have hypothyroidism. Does anyone else have this issue? If so, could you please tell me what your symptoms were, what tests you had to confirm, and the treatment you are doing.

Also, please let me know if you have had success!

Bathing suit season is coming up and I want to look good in my bathing suit. I have hypothyroidism so that makes it difficult, what is a fast and easy way to lose some weight?

I just recently had blood drawn for a thyroid panel and I want to know if anybody who has suffered from hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism has experienced constant nervousness, anxiety, or panic attacks.

I want to hear from people that have experienced this first hand.
Hey Michelle, is there a way I can keep in contact with you?

age 25yr
Continuous weight gain
hypothyroidism, T4= .04 and TSH= >100
thyroid scan shows diffuse goiter with no nodules.

I want to know, is it really a serious matter. And regarding treatment? Does it lead to surgery? Is it curable?

My regular doctor has me on thyroid supplement for normal but low thyroid. My symptoms (normal body temperature but freezing all the time) are not helped. There are supposedly thyroid problems that are not detected by regular blood tests. What type of doctor does the more involved thyroid testing?

I have hypothyroidism, and as a result have trouble upon trouble losing weight. I’m beginning to think it’s a no win situation and it’s very frustrating. Is there a meal plan that can help?

I said MEAL PLAN not pill, fake diet fad, or advertisement, thank you!

Before I started treatment I had all of these symptoms especially the last one and I could not figure out for the life of me why. Then I found out dimensia is caused by untreated hypothyroidism. I still have all symptoms except for the last one now, but I don’t throw things. I blow up on the littlest things and because I’ve already dug a hole for myself and am completely angry at myself and the world, am persistent on making everything worse and am completely out of control. Afraid to bring this up to my doctor. Afraid he’ll just think I’m a nut who reads into things too much…..

People who have dementia often experience:

Confusion and memory loss.
Inability to complete everyday tasks.
Loss of self-control leading to unexpected behavior, such as throwing things, yelling at other people, or being suspicious of others.
Impaired judgment and reduced ability to make decisions and learn new things.
An eventual loss of control over physical functions, such as urination.

A normal women should eat a minimum of 1200 calories per day in order to keep the body functioning but is that true for people with hypothyroidism or should I eat less because of a slow metabolism? What is the minimum amount of calories I should eat given that I need to lose weight and have hypothyroidism?

I dont want to taking synthetic hormones for the rest of my life.. how can I get permanently cured of hypothyroidism?

I know what the symptoms are for hypothyroidism but I want to know if there are specific symptoms for having low T4 levels, regardless of T3 levels or other aspects of hypothyroidism. I have Hashimoto’s disease and have HIGH T3 levels but LOW T4 levels. Since I have other health issues, I want to know what symptoms I should be expecting from the low T4. Thanks.

I have developed several large & many small nodules on both thyroid glands. The Dr. wants to remove them. What could cause this? What % of the time are they cancerous cells?

I was just curious to see what people are taking for hypothyroidism and how has it helped them
