My girlfriend has had this for the last 10 years and has had hypothyroidism for 17. She has been tested for autoimmune diseases which came back negative. Has anyone else ever seen this?

I was just diagnosed with an under active thyroid(hypothyroid). My dr prescribed me Levothyroxine, and I’d like to find out more about it. I’ve read up on side effects and important info, but I’d like to get opinions from anyone who takes it or has ever taken this medication? Does it work? What was your experience? She’s testing me in 2 months to see how it works, but I’d like to know what to more than likely expect. Thanks! =)
I have hypothyroidism, and am having trouble losing weight. Any suggestions?
The doctor believes that a 17 year old has a lump in her throat.
What could show up in an ultrasound?
What conditions result from thyroid problems?
I have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism including extreme cold intolerance, but my blood tests are normal. Doctors have refused to prescribe thyroid medicines for me.
I have two friends who take synthroid for hypothyroidism even though they don’t have any symptoms at all.
Can you have hypothyroidism even if your blood tests are normal?
I’m 18 and I have had Hypothyroidism for over 5 years. I have been on Synthroid since I’ve been diagnosed with it. It doesn’t seem to help with a lot of the issues plus I hate taking it. It’s such and inconvenience. Does anyone know anything natural that I could use in place of Synthroid?
how about ways to lessen the appearance of my goiter….. I am wondering if as I lose weight, if my goiter does not get smaller, if it will become more visible. I have been on treatment for a few years now (3 or 4) and have consistently gained weight (30 lbs within the past 2 or 3 months) and I am now consuming even less calories (only 1,020 today) and exercising even more.
I am a 22 year old female with hypothyroidism and am being referred to an endocrinologist. I am not sure what to expect. For a little over a year now I have not changed my diet or exercise and I slowly gained weight. With hypothyroid hormone treatment will it help or make it easier to loose weight? How does that work?
Can I take kelp pills if I’m already on medication? Will it help with my hypothyroidism?*Thanks
Have you had any experience with it?
I don’t have a "goitre"..I was asking if it would relieve some of the symptoms.
I was reading a question, and someone had answered that your thyroid is responsible for hair on your body. What is a thyroid and what exactly does it do? What are its responsibilities in females?
At my last check up, the doctor told me my thyroid gland felt enlarged. I have put off getting tested for it because I don’t know how much it costs for lab fees and Dr.’s visits for that matter, also I want to know about how much the treatment is for this problem so I can get this taken care of. An idea of how much money I would need to save to get tested for, pay lab fees, and pay for pills or treatment for hypothyroidism, would be a great help. I know I have all they symptoms, and it was suggested by my OB/GYN to get tested for this. Anyone with any knowledge of this disease please help me with these answers, or what you payed when you got tested and what not, physicians that specialize in this area or endocrine medicine and such are more than welcome and preferred. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my question.
